Small Groups

Welcome to the small group ministries of First Baptist Church Kyle! We are delighted that you have shown an interest in learning more about the small group ministries of our church. Small groups at First Baptist Church Kyle are called Connect, Grow, Multiply Groups or CGM Groups. CGM is embodied in each small group.

First, we Connect with God and each other. Without connections, nothing will happen. Connecting involves true Biblical fellowship and is relational.

As we connect with God and each other in the Body of Christ, which is the Church, we begin to Grow in our faith and knowledge and exhibit all of the fruits of His Holy Spirit indwelling and working in us to do His will.

Lastly, when we are being truly used of God for His good purposes, we naturally Multiply His Kingdom, bearing much fruit in affecting our community with the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Types of Small Groups

CGM Groups are divided into four types, each with a specific emphasis and focus. Click on a particular link to learn more about these small groups.

Grow Groups: Grow groups are groups of varying size that meet regularly to spiritually train and develop in a specific area of life. This is usually born out, though not always, through Bible studies. Grow groups typically meet on a weekly basis, can be either short-term or on-going, and can either be open or closed to participants. Grow groups are categorized into one of four stages based on area of focus and spiritual maturity level.

Lifestage Groups: Lifestage groups are groups of approximately four to forty people who meet on a weekly and on-going basis. These small groups are open to all participants. Persons in these small groups will typically be in a particular stage of life and share similar life experiences. First Baptist Church Kyle recognizes eleven distinct life stages.

Micro Groups: Micro groups are groups of four or fewer persons that meet together on a weekly basis for the purpose of discipleship. Because the goal is one-on-one discipleship, these groups tend to be closed to participants.

Missional Groups: Missional groups are groups of one or more individuals that work together intentionally and strategically to win lost souls for Jesus Christ. These groups meet at varying times and locations and are usually open to all participants.
