Teacher Bios

The Toucans class includes three teachers to serve you: Karla Castro, Liz Biddle, and Sara Reyes. Karla works Monday through Thursday, Liz works Monday and Wednesday, and Sara works Tuesday and Thursday.

Karla Castro (Monday - Thursday)

Hi I'm Mrs Karla. I've been at MDOCP for about three years now and love every moment I get to spend with the children. I've been married to my husband Dax for 17 years. I have three kids and recently added a one-year-old furry one.

My husband and I were born in Central America but by God's plan we met in New Orleans, LA (GEAUX SAINTS!) and got married in Austin, Texas. We are very busy juggling everyday life from being business owners to all kids' sports/activities imaginable (football, soccer, FFA, etc.), and last but not least, serving God. We love spending time as a family and attend church at the Fellowship Church of Plum Creek. As a family our goal in life is to serve God. "As for me and my house we will serve the Lord" Joshua 24:15.

Liz Biddle (Monday/Wednesday)

My name is Elizabeth Biddle and this will be my fourth year with MDOCP. I am so blessed to be a part of this program. Your little ones are the light of my life and I love my job!

I was born and raised in Austin, Texas and have been settled in Kyle for ten years. My husband and I will be celebrating our ten-year anniversary this year. We have two amazing children, Landon (7) and Olivia (5). My children both went to the MDOCP program and that is where I fell in love with teaching little ones. We have two dogs, Riker and Luna, a cat named Hemingway and I think the last time I counted we had five fish. As a family, we enjoy the outdoors and go camping every chance we get. We stay at the coast for a month during the summer and eat snow cones every day! Any chance we get, we are outside. I am an amateur photographer who mostly takes pictures of my kids, dogs, unsuspecting husband, friends and family. I love to bake, cook, garden, clean and eat. I enjoy a good book, whether it's inspirational, mystery, sci-fi, educational, I love them all! I especially enjoy reading about how little minds work and how I can be a better teacher and mother. Amongst all the things I enjoy, making people laugh is by far the most rewarding.

I am looking forward to being with your babies and learning new things this year. It is such an honor for me to teach them about Jesus and how God loves them all the time! Thank you!

Sara Reyes (Tuesday/Thursday)

My name is Sara Reyes, I am the Tuesday/Thursday teacher for the 2018/2019 school year. I look forward to getting to know your sweet babies in the Toucan room. We are going to have a great year filled with transitions, learning, creativity, expression, love, and fun!

I have been married to my amazing husband Ryan for seven years now. I am originally from the Dallas/Ft. Worth area (GO RANGERS!). We moved here about six years ago. We have three children together, Aria (5), Alli (4), and Elijah (2), and a cat named Meowi. The kids take up MOST of my free time, but in my spare time I love baking, painting, photography, COFFEE, and decorating. Oh, and did I mention coffee? Up until November of 2016 when I started substituting at MDOCP I was a stay-at-home mom. I am very blessed to have met so many incredible teachers and directors who have welcomed me with open arms into their program and become my best friends. What I love most about MDOCP and Mrs. Jenny is that as teachers we are supported and encouraged to use our creativity to structure crafts and activities how we see fit for our classroom. This will be my second year being a teacher instead of a substitute.
