Teacher Bios

The Penguins class includes three teachers to serve you: Linda Partin, Courtney Holmes, and Tonya Horn. Linda works Monday through Thursday, Courtney works Monday and Wednesday, and Tonya works Tuesday and Thursday.

Linda Partin (Monday - Thursday)

Hello, my name is Linda Ximena Partin. I am a mother of 2 wonderful daughters, ages 14 and 20 and married to my husband, Tracy. I am originally from the country of Colombia. I earned my degree in social studies while in Ecuador. We are a Christian family, attending First Baptist Church of Kyle.

I found out how much I enjoy working with children, especially the Pre-K age. Therefore, my focus has been on teaching the little ones. I chose to further my study in Pre-K teaching, so I attended hours of training to obtain my Texas Day Care Director’s License.

I have worked approximately 5 years at MDOCP, enjoying every minute of it! I love working with the children and the staff. I enjoy the Christian atmosphere and teaching the curriculum at MDOCP. I look forward to many more years educating my students and serving as a positive role model for them.

Courtney Holmes (Monday/Wednesday)

Hello, I'm Courtney. My husband Justin and I relocated from Austin to San Marcos last year, and were blessed to have our two children join the program in the Fall. Cora (4) will be an Owl this year, while Paige (2) will be a Turtle. We are so thrilled to be back for another year in the school that we love so much.

I was born and raised in Southeast Texas and met Justin in 2012. We were married in 2013 in the lovely town of Taos, New Mexico. After starting our family, I went back to school and earned my Associates Degree in Liberal Arts. It has been a wonderful experience to stay at home with my girls, so it's very rewarding to be able to work in the program they attend and continue to be near them each day, even though we're in separate classrooms. I love the arts, baking, podcasts, iced coffee and going for long walks. I started teaching this past January in the Penguins class and feel blessed to be back in the room on M/W, in addition to the Fox class on T/TH. I am so humbled and grateful that God has led me to this place where I can guide little ones in their precious first years of life.

Tonya Horn (Tuesday/Thursday)

I am blessed to be a mom of 4. My husband, Andrew, and I moved to the Kyle area about 3 years ago, and we love calling FBC Kyle our church home. This will be my family’s 4th year attending MDOCP and my 3rd year of teaching. Teaching has always been a passion of mine, and I’m so thankful I get to fulfill that love and still stay close to my little ones.
