Mission Statement

We are committed to our mission of ministering to children and their families while striving for excellence in all that we do.

Who We Are

Mother's Day Out and Christian Preschool (MDOCP) is a state-licensed, faith-based preschool program that teaches children about God and His love for us. We currently offer eight classes ranging in age from 3 months to 5 years. Classes meet during the public school year as well as the summer months of June and July (when interest warrants it). Both two and four-day schedule options are available.

Dates and Times

MDOCP is in session September through May during the public school year. Classes meet Monday through Thursday from 9:00 AM until 2:30 PM. Extended care hours are also available from 8:30 AM to 9:00 AM for those that need extra time in the mornings. A summer session is also offered in June and July if enough interest warrants offering a class.

Three schedule options are available to choose from:

  • Monday and Wednesday (two day option)
  • Tuesday and Thursday (two day option)
  • Monday through Thursday (four day option)

School Calendar and Class Schedule

School Calendar

Upcoming school-wide events are displayed in the events list on this web page as well as the events list for the individual classroom school pages. The complete School Calendar for 2018-2019 can also be downloaded.

A Typical Class Day

A typical class day begins with children arriving and being signed into their classrooms by their parents or guardians. Each classroom has an individualized schedule specifically designed to meet the needs of their children, but all include the following components (in no particular order):

  • Circle Time
  • Snack Time
  • Playground Time
  • Sensory Play
  • Bible Story
  • Lunch
  • Nap Time
  • Specials (Music, Movement, and Chapel)
  • Art
  • Academics

Specials

Our program offers weekly specials featuring music, movement, and chapel services. Our music class is led by our FBC Kyle Interim Children's Director, Kelly Opiela. Our movement class, led by Heather Adams, includes basic exercises, stretches, and other movement designed to get those wiggles out! Chapel meets twice a week and is led by our FBC Kyle Minister of Discipleship and Family Ministry, Chris Robbins. It consists of Bible stories told in a way that little children can comprehend and includes discussions to help them understand and absorb the Godly lessons being taught.

Staff

Our school staff works diligently to foster a loving relationship with each child using positive discipline when needed to redirect children and encourage friendship and a love for learning that will last throughout the child's lifetime. The school staff includes our director, Jenny Bromonsky, assistant director, Heather Kelley, resource coordinator, Rachel Rangel, and 21 classroom teachers.

Jenny Bromonsky

This is Jenny Bromonsky's third school year as Director with MDOCP. Jenny is married to Aric Bromonsky and a mother to Brayden, Avery and Eliza. Jenny has a degree from Texas State in Consumer Science and a minor in Business. Jenny grew up in Port Neches, Texas and has been involved in children's ministry since she was in her younger years. She worked at FUMC San Marcos for five years as a teacher and Assistant Director before coming to FBC Kyle.

Jenny's favorite verse - "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him and he will make your paths straight." Proverbs 3: 5-6

Heather Kelley

Heather Kelley has been with MDOCP for five years as an Assistant Director. She is a military wife, mom of a 13-year-old son and twin 9-year-old daughters. Heather has a degree from Texas State in Health Information Management. Heather was a pastor's daughter and as such has been involved in children's ministry for more than eighteen years. Heather's responsibilities at MDOCP include Parent Communication and Support, Staff Support, Billing and Accounting, and helping put on special events.

Heather's favorite verse - "But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God." Mark 10:14

Rachel Rangel

Hi parents! My name is Rachel Rangel and I have been teaching at MDOCP for three years now. My husband and I are celebrating our 5th wedding anniversary this Summer and we have been blessed with three wonderful children, all of which have attended school at MDOCP. I was born in San Antonio, grew up in Austin, where I met my husband in the 4th grade, moved to San Antonio for high school, then back to Austin when we got married. We've lived in South Austin, Leander and Kyle, so safe to say I'm a Texas Girl and I bleed maroon!! Go Aggies! My family and I attend church at the Fellowship at Plum Creek and love spending our weekends either being couch potatoes or outdoors finding new trails to hike. I live off coffee, Jesus and the chaos of having three kids, 6 years old and younger. I have worked as a temporary sub, resource coordinator/first call sub, full time teacher and now I'm back to resource coordinator. It has been my favorite position because I get to meet and love on ALL the babies. I love walking down the hall and getting hugs and high-5's from all the classes. I know we will have a wonderful year! God Bless.

Classroom Teachers

Each of MDOCP's 21 classroom teachers are here to serve you and your child. All classrooms include two active teachers each school day. Some work a full Monday through Thursday schedule while others work either a Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday schedule. Please review the teacher bios on our individual classroom pages to learn more about each of our wonderful teachers.
